Background
The HMSRHS strategic planning process was held in abeyance due to the publication of the Generational Health Review Report (April 2003) and the subsequent development at both State-wide and regional levels of the strategies for implementation of the relevant recommendations for country Health Services.
There were also discussions about changes to country regions (ie one country region in lieu of seven regions) but this was subsequently not initiated.
Country Health released its Strategic Plan for country “Strategic Directions for Country Health 2005 to 2010” in October 2004.
