Over the past few years (1997) all of the seven country health regions have completed or commenced, health needs assessments of the population in their region. This paper is a brief comparison of the results from four of the regions, namely the Hills Mallee Southern, Eyre, Riverland and South East regions.

Attached is a copy of the finding of the Hills Mallee Southern Regional Health Needs Assessment Project completed June 1997.

Strategic Plan 2001-2003.

The Hills Mallee Southern region operates within a framework outlined in the 2001-2003 Strategic Plan. This includes the higher purpose, vision and values agreed upon by all in the region. Regional planning processes are based on this framework in conjunction with primary health care principles and the recognition a social view of health and wellbeing, diversity of population and diversity of need.
